Saturdays have quickly become lawn days around here. Well… technically they’re Joey’s lawn days, but if you ask Alessandra, they’re her lawn days too.
That girl absolutely loves riding on the “grass cutter.” 😂 As soon as Joey heads outside, she’s right there ready to help, soaking up every second of it. I have a feeling these are going to become some of the memories she talks about years from now.
I watched as they tackled the yard while I worked from the office inside taking and making phone calls. One of the things I’m most grateful for with this job is getting to steal little moments throughout the day.
On my lunch break, Ale and I headed outside. She rode her bicycle while I walked beside her, listening to whatever random thoughts happened to pop into her head. 😂 My goodness, she is entertaining! Eventually she switched to her scooter, and I took the opportunity to squeeze in a little over two miles walking before heading back inside to finish work.
When I sat back down at my desk, Alessandra wasn’t about to let me work alone. She got set up on the little desk next to mine with her toy laptop and phone, looked over at me completely serious and said, “Oh hey… you new here?” 😂😂😂 Apparently I was the new employee.
Then she immediately answered a very important business call where she was selling someone a pink and yellow house and telling me to shush! I guess she’s already learning that real estate is serious business lol
After work, Lita met us and we did something we haven’t done in forever… We went to an actual movie theater! We watched Toy Story 5 with a giant tub of popcorn, Skittles, lots of laughs, and for a couple of hours we just got to unplug and enjoy being together.
It wasn’t an extravagant day with any major milestones. Just working, hanging out, getting outside, moving my body, laughing with my family and making memories that didn't cost a fortune or require some big vacation. These kinds of Saturdays are the ones I cherish and the days I hope the kids look back smiling on someday. 💙
