I started VidaNueva Daily because life has gotten… loud.

Why the name VidaNueva?

Not only is it a play on our last name, but vida nueva literally means “new life.” And that’s a lot of what this is about.

Life doesn’t change all at once. It changes one decision, one season, and one ordinary day at a time.

This online journal started with 40 Days to Kindergarten, a challenge to intentionally reset our family before our youngest started school. It was supposed to be a way to hold myself accountable to rebuilding healthy habits and routines for myself, my family, and our home, in the middle of one of the busiest seasons of our lives. But my hope is that it becomes so much more than that.

This is where I’ll document our adventures, the lessons we’re learning, the recipes we’re making, the places we’re exploring, and all the little moments I never want us to forget. My goal isn’t to pretend we’ve got life all figured out. It’s simply to write the story while we’re still living it.

​

My hope is that years from now my kids can come back here, read the story of their childhood through my eyes, laugh at us, cringe at me, and remember just how deeply they were loved.

 

And if somewhere along the way our journey encourages another family to slow down, spend more time together, try something new, or simply appreciate the season they’re in… well, that’s a pretty awesome bonus.
