Today we finally made our first trip to the neighborhood park! It’s technically walking distance from our new house, but… it's the middle of summer in Texas, I was on my lunch break, and none of us actually wanted to melt. 😂 So we drove the two minutes instead. The girls absolutely loved it. The giant slides were an instant hit, and I could already picture this becoming one of those places we’ll visit over and over again.

After the kids were picked up, Joey, Ale, and I kept dinner simple with fajitas. We didn't have tortillas, but they were delicious as rice bowls nonetheless! I’ve also been getting back to something that always makes me feel better: tracking my macros and drinking plenty of water. It’s funny how easy those habits are to let slide, but also how quickly I notice a difference when I come back to them. More energy, better mood, less mindless snacking. Just… better.

I’ve spent so much time looking for some big secret to feeling healthier, but maybe the answer has been the same all along:

Eat protein.

Go outside.

Play with your kids.

Repeat.

So today we did just that, and it was perfect. I can feel all these little choices, my votes, adding up and I love it.
