40 Days to Kindergarten: Day 10 | July 21, 2026 | Kindergarten, Here We Come!

Today was one of those days I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.

Pookie and Bestie headed out for a back-to-school shopping day!

We spent the day picking out clothes for kindergarten and church, and I loved watching Alessandra become more and more excited with every outfit she chose. It’s so fun seeing her little personality shine through the things she likes now… what “suits” her, as she says 😂 

We met Daddy for a quick lunch before heading off for what was probably the biggest moment of the day… Her very first big girl backpack and lunch box.

I don’t know why that felt so emotional, but it did. Seeing her proudly pick them out made it all feel so real. Kindergarten is right around the corner.

After that, we grabbed groceries and headed home to wait for Daddy to get off work. The moment he walked through the door, Alessandra could hardly contain herself. She excitedly showed him every single outfit she picked out, her adorable new backpack, lunch box, and her water bottle. She was absolutely glowing with pride, and Joey matched every bit of her excitement. Watching the two of them together is one of my favorite things.

As parents, we spend so much time worrying about the big moments that we sometimes forget these little ones... the shopping trips, the fashion shows in the living room, the excitement over a backpack. These are the moments that become some of our favorite memories.

Another successful Pookie and Bestie day is in the books! Kindergarten is getting closer, and while a part of me wishes I could slow time down just a little, another part of me is so excited to watch this sweet girl step into this next chapter.

One more memory made.
